Training Plan FAQ’s
Q: Are training plans personalized at all for my work schedule
or available track days?A: No, training plans are generic in the sense that the same plan is given to everyone who purchases that particular plan. Your Training Peaks account will allow you to switch workout days to better suit your schedule but personalized schedules are beyond the scope of the training plans. If you are interested in more personalized services please look into coachseiji.com’s coaching services
Q: How do I know when to start the training plan?
A: The training plan ends in what is called the “race week.” This means the last weekend of the training plan should coincide with your “A” priority race for that half of the season. This is the most important race for that half of the season and your training will be designed to bring you to your fitness and speed peak at this time. The purchasing process will automatically “roll back” the training plan to coincide with the “A” priority race date so make sure that you have this date handy and correct.
Q: Do the training plans start assuming a certain level of fitness?
A: All training plans start assuming you are coming off a 1-3 week complete break from training. There is a two week Preparation Phase of training in each training plan. This phase is “training to get ready to train” and will prepare your body and its tissues (especially joint structures) for the rigors of the training plan. If you have active prior to purchasing the training plan then have the start date of your training plan be the first day of the third week (first day of the Base 1 period of training.)
Q. How do I get my questions answered if I purchase a training plan?
A: You can contact Seiji with initial set up questions or questions about if and what training plan is correct for you. Once you have purchased your training plan, please direct all questions to the coachseiji.com Training Plan Support Forum.
Q: How do I know what to do on strength and flexibility workouts?
A: After purchasing your training plan, your delivery of supporting documents will also include all your strength training and flexibility workouts. These electronic documents describe each exercise in detail with corresponding pictures and videos. Other workout parameters such as repetitions, sets, durations, etc. are all clearly described in these electronic documents.
Q.: How do I know which training plan to purchase?
A: Training plans are designed for a particular ability level, hours available to train, and days per week of motocross riding. This information is included within the title of each training plan. For instance “Beginner 8-12 hours, 2 MX days, 22 weeks” means Beginner class motocross racer that has between 8 and 12 hours per week to dedicate to training and can go to the track twice per week. The total training plan is 22 weeks in duration. If you have questions about which training plan to purchase feel free to contact Seiji directly.
Q: What equipment will I need?
A: You will need a computer with internet access, a heart rate monitor (downloadable versions are ideal but not necessary), a form of cardiovascular exercise (ideally road cycling) and access to a weight room.
