Injured Amateurs On The Mend!

Coach Seiji online client #131 Keaton Ward, personal training clients #108 Rusty Potter and #10 Bryce Dozier have all been recently injured but are all healing up nicely and should be 100% soon!

Team Green B class pilot Keaton Ward of Bozeman, MT was injured during practice at the Coach Seiji ranch just before Loretta's this past summer. Keaton had to have shoulder surgery but the outcome was better than expected. Through therapy and dedicated off the bike training, Keaton was able to successfully return to competition with only a month on the bike. Over the first week of December at the Amateur Open national in Arizona, Keaton was able to get past the first race jitters and post some impressive overall scores: 3rd in 450 Stock, 3rd in 450 Mod and a 2nd in Open Am. He backed that up last weekend with a 2nd in Open Am at Glen Helen.

Another Team Green B rider and Collinsville, Texas resident Bryce Dozier underwent surgery last week to correct a tear in his thoracic cavity that he has been dealing with for the past four months. The condition wasn't life thretening or painful but had to be corrected and the break between the Mini O's and the Spring TX Nationals was the prime opportunity to get it repaired so under the kinfe he went. Bryce is recovering just fine, out of pain now and looking forward to getting back to training next week and back on the bike soon thereafter. This kid never gives up!

A Class rider and long time Coach Seiji client Rusty Potter of Midland, TX had back surgery this past summer and has successfully managed his injury through a long healing process and has been able to train off the bike over the last few months. Rusty has been following the stringent healing protocol to a T and his training has been gradually increased in both intensity and volume and all signs are good! With continued dedication and smart work, Rusty should be able to return to on the bike action by mid January. This has been a difficult injury to manage but Rusty's dedication and work ethic should shine through once the green light is on!

Coach Seiji would like the thank these riders and their families for the opportunity to be a part of thier programs. I look forward to the 2012 amatuer season and the progress to be made!
