Shorty Solid at Budd’s Creek!
The 2011 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship headed to Budd’s Creek this past weekend and Coach Seiji personal training client Andrew Short was looking forward to improved results after a somewhat disappointing round at Steel City. The Red Bull/KTM Factory Racing pilot started the day well by posting the 10th fastest overall qualifying time aboard his KTM 350 SX-F.
The first 450 class moto shot out of the gate and the #29 bike of Andrew Short darted out of the tricky first turn inside the top 10. Andrew rounded the first lap in 8th and within a few laps had advanced to 6th place. Misfortune struck Andrew on the deeply rutted and extremely rough track; a crash cost the veteran rider a handful of spots but he doggedly worked his way back up eventually ending the moto with a well-deserved 9th place.
Andrew produced a similar start in moto 2, coming around on the first lap in 11th. Andrew’s unrelenting efforts on a now incredibly rough track allowed him to inch his way up in positions throughout the moto, ending the brutal race day with an 8th place finish. Andrew’s 9-8 scores gave him 9th overall.Coach Seiji would like to congratulate Andrew on his efforts and wish his entire family the best this week as his son Hudson will undergo eye surgery…All the best Andrew, Jacki, Emma and Hudson!!
