Andrew Short Improves on A1 Performance in Phoenix!

Red Bull/KTM Factory Racing and Coach Seiji client #29 Andrew Short improved upon his 10th place A1 performance at the second round of the Monster Energy Supercross Series at Chase Field in Phonix, Arizona. Shorty started his outstanding performance with solid timed practice sessions and carried this momentum into his heat race.

A good jump out of the gate put Shorty and his KTM SX-F 350 in the fourth position rounding the first turn. He quicky moved into third by the end of the first lap. A battle ensued between Shorty and second placed rider Ivan Tedesco with Kevin Windham in tow and Shorty was able to make the pass after blitzing the sand section after a few laps. This placed him in second place where he would finish the heat race.

In the SX class main event, Shorty got a good jump but was pushed back on the start straight to emerge in 11th place after the first turn where he would remain for almost half of the race. Shorty worked hard to move up on to the 10th place position of Brett Metcalfe; they both were able to pass Davi Millsaps on lap 10. Mishaps by a few riders ahead of them allowed Shorty to finish the main in 7th place, a great improvement upon his first round finishing position.

Andrew will undoubtedly work hard during the week to improve his race results on the weekends as will his KTM support crew and yours truly! All the best Andrew!
